  My grandmother, Louise Rhymer, was a founding member, and raised us in the church, when we spent summers with her, growing up. I and 2 of my sisters were baptized there, by Luther Capell, in the late 60s.d I went to vacation Bible School there, and made a macaroni cigar jewelry box for my grandmother, one summer... Donno Jones was the music director, and sang in a quartet with siblings Pauline King, Maurice Jones, and Virgil Jones. My favorite of the many great songs they sang, was The Lighthouse. There was a Sunday morning radio show, and we sang with all of our might, the great red hymnal songs that remain dear to my heart; I've Never Been Sorry, I'm Gettin Ready to Leave this World, What a Happy Time, Living in Canaan Now... I loved that church so much, and will always associate it with good memories. The last time that I visited was for my grandmother's funeral, an occasion that was standing room only. When I went regularly, they were just building in the Sunday School classrooms. I pray that the Lord will continue to move within the church, and to mold and change lives for the better, as mine was changed. My heartfelt love to Mountain View, and gratitude to my Lord for it's place in my life.

  We have a new Pastor... Jason. He is young and enthusiastic and a great teacher. We have been through a lot with almost 2 years of no preacher but now we have had Jason a year and things are great. If you want to feel the love that Christ gives us, come visit. This church welcomed me in 2004, didn't know me but treated me instantly with love and support. They have prayed me through two major issues of health and they are my family. Mountain View, "Where Love is Felt, and Lives are Changed!"

  Mountain View Baptist Church is where I grew up. I came to trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior while going to church there. I left for Bible College in 1971 and went on to serve as a pastor and Bible College teacher, but my start in ministry began with the ministry of Mountain View Baptist Church. The congregation was supportive and loving. When I do get to visit I find that same warmth and love. I believe that any visitor will find that same welcoming warmth. Pastor Mike is a great preacher and shepherd of the church. Go check them out.
